Acceptance
These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and AFBytes. By accessing AFBytes you agree to be bound by these Terms together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Copyright Policy, and the AI and Summary Disclosure, all of which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Permitted use
AFBytes is intended for personal, noncommercial browsing unless AFBytes grants written permission for another use. AFBytes may enforce technical rate limits on outbound redirects, API endpoints, and other site surfaces to protect availability and prevent abuse.
Automation and misuse
You may not use bots, scrapers, or automated systems to access AFBytes other than (a) well-behaved search-engine crawlers that respect AFBytes' robots.txt, or (b) with prior written permission from AFBytes. You may not circumvent technical access controls or rate limits, overload or interfere with site infrastructure, extract bulk content for republication, or use AFBytes to attempt to identify individual readers.
Publisher rights and fair use
AFBytes uses headlines, brief excerpts, and source attribution under principles of fair use and journalistic indexing to direct readers to original publisher reporting. Linked content, trademarks, source names, and full article text remain the property of original publishers and rights holders. AFBytes does not claim ownership over third-party reporting. Publishers and rights holders may submit takedown requests through the Copyright Policy.
AI-assisted materials
AFBytes uses automated, AI-assisted systems to generate article briefs, perspective lenses, money-angle and market-impact commentary, cover imagery, ranking scores, and search-engine metadata. These materials are AFBytes editorial scaffolding, not original reporting, and are provided on an 'AS IS' and 'AS AVAILABLE' basis. AFBytes makes no representation that AI-generated text, lenses, ranking scores, or imagery are accurate, complete, current, non-infringing, or fit for any particular purpose. See the AI and Summary Disclosure for details, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Outbound links and third-party content
'Read full story' and similar links route through an AFBytes redirect endpoint and then send your browser to a third-party publisher. AFBytes does not control, endorse, or warrant the content, accuracy, security, advertising, tracking, or terms of any third-party site. Your interactions with linked publishers are governed by those publishers' own terms and policies.
Disclaimer of warranties
AFBYTES IS PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. AFBYTES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR FREE OF HALLUCINATION, OMISSION, OR BIAS. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY AFBYTES CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HERE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AFBYTES AND ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF AFBYTES, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF AFBYTES HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. AFBYTES' TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID AFBYTES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY IN FULL TO YOU.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AFBytes and its operators, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors from and against any third-party claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your misuse of the site, including scraping, circumvention of access controls, or automated access in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, publicity, or privacy right; or (d) any content you submit or transmit through any AFBytes contact channel. This indemnification obligation does not apply to passive, ordinary reading of publicly available AFBytes pages.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and AFBytes agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of any arbitration provision AFBytes later adds.
Changes to the site and to these Terms
AFBytes may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or surface of the site at any time, with or without notice. AFBytes may also revise these Terms; the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Copyright Policy, and AI and Summary Disclosure, constitute the entire agreement between you and AFBytes regarding the site and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject.
